At First UMC of Shelton, music is a very important part of our lives, not only at Worship times but in our personal lives too. We are blessed to have a dedicated choir and musicians who willingly give of their time and talents and gifts to serve the Lord. The choir meets every Sunday morning at 8:45 a.m. and the first and third Wednesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30pm to practice praising God. All who have a heart to praise the Lord are welcome to join us. One does not need to be hugely skilled or musically gifted to join us. What matters the most is that there is a willingness to serve and to learn how to use the gifts and talents that you have been given.

The Visitation Ministry is a ministry of love and compassion to those who are shut-in. This ministry allows us to keep in touch with the needs of our people, to share the love of Christ in difficult circumstances, and serve as a connection line within our church community. If you’d like to be included in the visitations or become part of the visitation team, let us know! Contact Pastor Barbara if you would like more information or know of someone who should be added to Visitation. firstname.lastname@example.org

Upper Room Group
Our Upper Room group meets on Thursday mornings at 10am in the Giffin Room. The “Upper Room” daily devotional guide contains meditations that show real people struggling to live faithfully in real-life situations, with the Bible as the touchstone for and measure of faithful living. Many churches use the Upper Room as a source of study, meditation and prayer in small group settings.
Can’t come on Thursday morning but would still like the guide? They may be found in the basket on the Narthex table. We ask for a donation of a dollar or two to cover the cost of the booklets.
