Church Council
Chairperson, Dr. Robert Singletary:
The Church Council oversees the management and programming of the First United Methodist Church of Shelton and serves as the primary administrative body of the charge conference. It plans and carries out programs that fulfill the congregation’s nurturing, outreach, and witnessing ministries. It also leads the visioning and strategic planning process within the church. The Church Council meets at least bi-monthly during the year and its meetings are open to all interested persons. Contact the  Church Council Chair for more information.

Worship Committee,
Chairperson, Pastor Bill:
The Worship Team plans and coordinates our Sunday worship services as well as special seasonal services. If you would like to help with a service or a seasonal event,   please let us know, everyone is welcome! We meet monthly- check the calendar for our next meeting date.

Visitation Team
Chairperson, Pastor Bill:
The Visitation Ministry is a ministry of love and compassion to those who are shut-in. This ministry allows us to keep in touch with the needs of our people, share the love of Christ in difficult circumstances, and serve as a connection line within our church community. If you would like to be included in the visitations or would like to be part of the visitation team, please contact our  Pastor for training.

Christian Education – Program Coordinators

Missions Team
Chairperson, Linda Loglisci:
We have been active during the holidays with gifts to the orphanage in New York, Wesley Village, and the local Team in the Valley. We have an annual tradition of hosting Easter hunts and Breakfast with Santa for the children and will be participating in the Crop Walk. The Missions Team meets on the third Monday of the month in the Giffin Room. Contact the  Missions Team Chair for more information.

Board of Trustees
Chairperson, Robert Wood:
The Board of Trustees is made up of elected persons who are entrusted with the care and upkeep of the physical surroundings of the church. These include building repairs and grounds maintenance, improvements, insurance, and regulatory compliances. There is also a fiduciary responsibility to manage funds bequeathed to the church, such as scholarship funds, emergency repair funds, and investments. Finance Committee
Chairperson, TBD:
The Finance Committee is responsible for the financial health of the congregation. The committee raises, manages, and disperses the monies needed by the Church to carry out its mission. The committee consists of the chairperson, pastor, lay member of the annual conference, chair of the church council, representative of the staff-parish relations committee, representative of the trustees, chair of the ministry group on stewardship, lay leader, financial secretary, treasurer, and church business administrator. Welcoming Hospitality Committee
Chairperson Pastor Bill:
Hospitality is an important part of parish life. A very important ministry is our Hospitality Ministry! It serves in greeting new visitors to our church and also assisting parishioners with needs they may have.

Fundraising Committee
Chairperson, Patricia Fitzsimmons

The Fundraising Committee runs creative events to raise funds for the missions and ministries of this church. Some of these annual events include the very popular Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, Breakfast with Santa, Halloween Bash, Dining Under the Stars, and a Talent show.
