Welcoming Church Statement
The First United Methodist Church of Shelton is a welcoming family of God committed to becoming more and more like Jesus Christ.
We affirm and respect each individual as a child of God. We celebrate the uniqueness of each person and welcome people of every age, ethnicity, and race, sexual orientation and gender identity, marital status, socio-economic situation, and physical/mental ability.
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we strive to create a community of faith that reflects Christ’s message of love and justice. We invite all to full inclusion in the life and ministry of our church in Christ.

Sunday, April 12: 10:00 AM Sunday worship will include a time of remembrance of our organist, Ron Giannattasio. We will be joined by members of Nichols UMC and, formerly, Long Hill UMC, people who worshipped with Ron on keyboard for decades.
First UMC of Shelton is a sustaining member of the Messy Church global network of churches.
Messy Church: Saturday, January 10 Big Success: Our first Messy Church was a great experience for all. We also learned how to make it even better. Our next Messy Church will be February 14 from 4:30-6:30 PM. Invite friends, neighbors, and family to this Christ-centered, all-ages worship and celebration. Fun is guaranteed.
